Dhanak Website
Work completed
I only have 4-5 products left to add to the website. After that I have to link some of the pages together and sort the categories. I spent most of my time just adding products, (variable products took more time). There was a permanent image in the header, which was disrupting the product pages. I got rid of it temporarily, I need to figure out which pages need that and which don't.
Learnings
- Organization
Organization is a huge part of how I was able to complete so many products this week. I made a list of what product images I had and sent the list of ones I didn't have. I then labelled the images properly so that it would be easier for me to select. I even wrote the basic header format for the description box details, so that it would be easy for me to copy paste to each product.
- Image crop
This was kind of of silly. I couldn't figure out how to crop the images as it was a 3 step process and the buttons were in different directions. I did finally figure it out, but it was still hard for me to do it quickly.
Google Analytics
Work completed
we did some basic setting up of the property from a UA to GA4. I explored the dashboard/user interface. I went through the reports trying to make sense of the numbers and the graphs.
Learnings
- UA vs GA4
Since I knew something about UA and nothing about GA4, I started with finding out the differences and changes between the two. In GA4 everything is an event and some unnecessary statistics have been changed or removed. There are 4types of events. 1. Automatic events 2, Enhanced measurement events 3. Recommended events 4. Custom events. All of them serve a different purpose. You can also track a Goal, it could be a link click (destination), duration on a page or Pages/ screens per session.
- UI
I understood how the user interface works and where reports, settings, numbers would be.
SEO
Work completed
Started off with doing some basic research on how to do SEO. I learnt quite a few basic useful points that I could use. Then did one round of keyword searching. I had a meeting and then came up with better, more appropriate keyword for the Coversity website.
Learnings
- Basic
To start of, the first thing I learnt was to find good keyword related to your objective, If not easy to rank higher, find a variation of the keyword. You can also use the suggested/related search at the bottom of google page 1 search results. Within your website the Search Intent has to be met as early as possible in the page. That's how it would have a chance of ranking higher. Next was the aesthetics part, to make everything simple to understand and more engaging so that people stayed for longer. Answer the question to the search at the beginning. Insert the keyword in the title, the first couple of 100 words and then throughout the page.
Internship preparation
Work completed
I finished my 1 page profile and I'm still only halfway through my cover letter. I plan to finish that by today and send them out by Saturday.
Learnings
The only thing I would say I'm learning is, what the content or information in my portfolio/profile be. What should I disclose and what shouldn't be mentioned. I learnt about the design of the profile and the structure of it.
Digital Marketing
Work completed
I explored Lead and Awareness Campaign Goals in Facebook ads manager. after exploring the settings and specific features, I did some research on when to use each of these Campaign Goals. I'll just add the images below, as it's easier for me to just show my notes.
