What I learned from Canada's attacking play

I was really impressed after watching Canada's first world cup appearance after decades. I liked how they were attacking with speed and I noticed a few things that I liked.

1.Start runs from deeper: I saw a lot of times they were onside and looked off because they started their runs from slightly deeper and therefore had more speed than the defense line that would've just started. This also gave a few more seconds for their teammate to pass the ball.

2. Effective first touch: I saw them take the most ridiculous first touches. They were almost always into the space beside them or behind them etc. They were making an effort to make the ball go where they wanted it to go. And if they needed to use any other part of their foot, other than the inside foot, they did.

3. Make the pass: When they had pressure they didn't insist on holding the pass. They also didn't hesitate to give balls in the air to their teammates to avoid it being stolen. It's because everyone who played for them had a decent first touch and could keep the ball under control no matter how it came to them.

That's it
