Eyes on the ball

Yesterday I missed like 5 sitters 5 yards from goal and with the keeper on the other post.

I missed mainly because I didn't have my eyes on the ball and 2-3 of them went through my legs because of that. My body shape was there, I was in the right spot, I was even using the proper foot (back foot) to strike the ball. I still missed because just before contact on the ball I took my eyes off it.

I worked on finishing earlier this week and I had my eyes on the ball the entire time it was rolling out to me. I even got all of them shots on target and got proper contact on the ball. I have noticed myself missing from that close with tap ins, all because of no eyes on the ball. I didn't tell myself that I need to keep my eyes on the ball, my coach was telling me after the game and then I realized that was the problem.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BALL

That's it

  1. There is a another way to get this in.
Think in each situation WHAT IS THAT I WANT TO ACHIEVE
and then ask your body to do it.
So the idea is NOT to remind yourself, rather in every situation you get your subconscious to take over and your signal is merely - what is really important, what I want to achieve and then your whole body achieves it for you -

So you delegate work to your eyes (don't consciously control your eyes) rather
    you let them work subconsciously

The more we let the subconscious take over the more the conscious brain can do other things - or the more we stop using the subconscious (and to others it looks like habitual or magical or)

More i can talk about this if interested
