The Jab Technique

I watched this video on Joshua Kimmich, It's about his different lob/chip passes.

The lob and chip passes are to get the ball over the opponents and to your teammates. It also usually has less pace on it and more spin, the spin makes it easier for your teammate to receive the ball.

The normal technique is hitting the ball really low and have a side follow through, some people also go for a straight follow through to make sure the ball goes straight. But it is all personal preference. This type of pass is good for headers that need redirection, as it doesn't have speed it'll be easier for that.

The technique Kimmich uses is no follow through, it's also called the Jab technique apparently. This is basically no follow through just an initial contact and the power from your initial contact has to do all the work for you. But I did observe a little side follow through in some of his passes. So I think it's fine if there's a little follow through. You'll have to be aware of where exactly you make contact as that will determine where the ball is headed.

Here is the video I watched if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY9NHIxfYAo

That's it.
