Receiving On The Line As A Winger

I need to work on this, I saw it in a winger drills video but even my coach said this the previous day.

When receiving the ball on the line I tend to have my back facing my own goal and can't see what's behind me without turning my head to scan. This also gives the defender time to get close to me and not let me turn. I need to get to the line and face my back to where the fans would be in a stadium. This let's me see the ball coming and also how far and where the defender is, it also gives me a chance to scan further up the field. Receiving this way also has the body in a better position to take a touch forward in one touch rather then taking two touches to control and then turn.

The coach was also explaining that every player can use this as you can move to the side anywhere on the field and turn to face the oppositions goal. I need to keep this in mind tomorrow as I might get the ball more doing this.

That's it
