How to add balance into the training plan

So I talked to my physio/fitness trainer about how to add balance to my training plan and what am I supposed to be doing. Here's what he had to say.

What to do?

He said that whatever we watch the pros doing, is good stuff. But people follow it without knowing what it actually ddevelops. For exapmle standing one leged on a Bosu ball and hitting the ball in the air repeatedly. That would help in keepin balance when I step on an uneven pitch. Basically think about different ways you would need balance in the game and add them between the football drills. The reason to add it in the football drills is so that I get used to transitioning from the football technical work to trying to balance (like in a match).

He said this is the side work. The main balance work woul have to be in the main workout plan. Because all the balance comes form core stability and strength. To be able to control how much your body moves, like I said before Anti-rotation etc. He gave an example of how Ronaldo lands after his extremely high jumps. He said he doesn't have to bend his knees or band down, because his core and back are strong to keep him relatively upright.

That's it

  1. So i Agree the core strength will automatically give you strength and stability. However there i are always techniques to learn (and make them second nature) to ensure that your turns, backward movements, shielding, jumps are more stable. Lets also lern those techniques
