How to recover from injuries
These are notes from a video and a little personal experience (My knee problem isn't that big) But I can relate to the video for some points.
So how do you recover from an injury? Here are a few steps to doing that
1. Rest When You're injured the last thing you want to do is go out and play. No matter how much you think you can push through, just don't do it, It's only going to get worse. At the start when I got the pain in my knee I thought it was just a one time thing. I thought a nights rest would work, but it didn't and even though I knew it was paining day after day I would still play and workout (I did do icing and other things but they weren't enough). Another thing to keep in mind is our body recovers best when we're asleep. so staying up late because you can't practice doesn't help a wee bit.
2. Rehab Doing your rehab exercises is extremely crucial because if you don't You probably won't be as fit as you were before. Working out doesn't mean doing the exercises once a week, It has to be done every single day. During the rehab you'll mostly be focusing on 1. Increasing range of motion and 2. Rebuilding over all strength to the injured area. It may seem boring doing the same exercises repeatedly, but it'll be worth it and The quicker and more dedicated you are the better. Before I started feeling pain again I could feel the result of doing the same thing repeatedly.
3. Stay focused and positive I know this sounds so cliche but it's the truth. If you have a negative mindset you're not gonna give your rehab everything possible. One way to stay positive is to focusing on the end result another one could be surrounding yourself with people who can help (Physio or workout partner). T make sure you don't completely dive into rehab and football make sure you spend time in doing other things non football related.
Well I know this one is extremely short but it's what I wanted to write/take notes about. so... yeah I guess this is it
